Unter diesem Motto sind wir seit 1993 im Einsatz für Dresdner Kinder, Jugendliche und Familien in besonderen Lebenslagen.

The stoffwechsel e.V. is an accepted supporting organisation of the children's and youth welfare services. Furthermore, we are a member of the umbrella organisation of Diakonisches Werk - Stadtmission Dresden e.V..

Our work is primarily funded by donations.

God motivates us to do our job and to serve the people. We exercise our Christian faith every day.

The name 'stoffwechsel' [Eng. 'stuff exchange'] refers to the cell and tissue conversion of nutritious material for special purposes. We like to think that the 'nutritive material' can be found in three forms at stoffwechsel:

nutritionally ... at Treffpunkt in the form of Coffee and food

physically ... in 2nd Hand apparel

spiritually ... soul food [through 'tasting' and experiencing Jesus in our projects and through contact with project workers].

Since our work began, it has been our priority to work collectively with other organizations in our community.   For this reason, we cooperate with churches, Christian groups, the Evangelial Allaince, schools, clubs and other youth organisations in Dresden and the surrounding area.

We aim to make a positive difference in our city and to make changes where possible.  Serving our city and being a blessing here is of vital importance to us.
